Latin America attracts growing number of Europeans
More Europeans are emigrating to Latin America than the number of South Americans who come to live in Europe. One of the main causes is the economic crisis in Europe, which has resulted in a reversal of the traditional migratory flows. According to data from the International Organization of Migrants, in 2012 alone, more than 181,000 Europeans went to countries in South America, compared with 119,000 Latin American and Caribbean citizens who moved to the EU. Most of the European emigrants are from Spain, followed by Italy, Portugal, France and Germany. But the destinations are no longer Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela, countries that have historically hosted a larger number of European immigrants. The new destinations for Europeans are Chile, Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador.
Que los Europeos elijan irse a vivir a Bolivia debe ser una patada en el ego de muchos que les dicen bolitas al que les vende la fruta en la esquina..
