Latin America attracts growing number of Europeans
More Europeans are emigrating to Latin America than the number of South Americans who come to live in Europe. One of the main causes is the economic crisis in Europe, which has resulted in a reversal of the traditional migratory flows. According to data from the International Organization of Migrants, in 2012 alone, more than 181,000 Europeans went to countries in South America, compared with 119,000 Latin American and Caribbean citizens who moved to the EU.
