Petrobras slashes five-Year investment budget
Petrobras (PBR +1.5%) announces plans to cut investments by 37% over the next five years in an urgent effort to reduce its soaring debt load.In its long-delayed document outlining its five-year business plan, PBR says it expects capital spending over the 2015-19 period to total $130B, vs. its previous five-year plan that foresaw investments of $220.6B over the 2014-18 period.The Brazilian company sees domestic oil production averaging 2.8M bbl/day in 2020, down from a prior target of 4.2M.
PBR also raised its goal for asset sales this year and next, saying it now expects to divest $15.1B during 2015-16, up from a previous target of $13.7B.
