George Soros Cuts His Stake In GLD!
In the 1Q of 2010, George Soros, a chairman of Soros Fund Management made some changes in his fund's portfolio. The most interesting change, in my opinion, is a lower position in SPDR Gold Trust (ETF) (NYSE: GLD). His fund reduced its position in GLD by 9,6%.
Positions in Citigroup (NYSE: C) and Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) were also lowered. Soros Fund Management reduced Pfizer (PFE) by 6.3 million shares to 5.3 million shares, and it has only 10K shares in Citigroup (C) left. Altria Group, Inc. (NYSE: MO [FREE Stock Trend Analysis]) and The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (NYSE: BK) were liquidated.
Petroleo Brasileiro SA (ADR) (NYSE: PBR) is an interesting stock for Soros Fund Management, as it increased its stake by 18%. Exxon Mobil Corporation
(NYSE: XOM) is another oil company that Soros was buying in 1Q, a stake in Exxon (XOM) was raised 80%.
Suncor Energy Inc. (USA) (NYSE: SU [FREE Stock Trend Analysis]) was also interesting to Soros Fund Management, just like Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE: BSX), Verizon Communications Inc.
(NYSE: VZ) and The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE: KO).
