SAO PAULO (Dow Jones)--Brazil's foreign-currency reserves fell $3.7 billion in September from the previous month, the first monthly drop since April of 2009, as the central bank halted daily purchases of dollars in the foreign-exchange market, the central bank said Tuesday.
Foreign reserves totaled $349.7 billion in September, down from $353.4 billion at the end of August, according to figures published on the central bank's website. It was the first monthly drop in foreign reserves since April 2009, when the nation saw a decline of $1.2 billion in reserves.
"The central bank did not acquire dollars on the foreign exchange market last month and that impacted reserves, while we saw fewer inflows from the trade and financial side," said Flavio Serrano, an economist at Sao Paulo's BES investment fund. "This is not worrisome because the level of reserves remains very high, showing that the government has the tools needed to combat any crisis."
Contacted by Dow Jones Newswires, a central bank spokeswoman said the monetary authority would not comment on the fall in reserves.
Reserves began growing sharply when the central bank started purchasing dollars from the spot market in October 2005. Reserves totaled $53.8 billion at the end of 2005.
Reserves declined beginning in October 2008 as the central bank loaned dollars to Brazilian businesses in the face of the global credit crunch. The central bank also sold dollars from reserves to the foreign-exchange market via spot auctions.
In mid-2009, the government reversed course, buying dollars from the market at spot auctions.
At the start of last month, however, the central bank ended dollar purchases.
The Brazilian real has depreciated sharply against the dollar in recent weeks. On Sept. 1, the real was trading at BRL1.61 to the dollar. Tuesday, the real traded at about BRL1.88 to the dollar.

Con las ventas que hice ayer me quedé con la quinta parte de los nominales que llegué a tener y varios miles de lotes 11.5Di y 16.0Di.

La nueva cuerda me sujeta hasta una caída a $11. Si llega hasta allí tendremos que volver a achicar.

Pero las fichas las tengo puestas en la esperanza de una recuperación importante antes del vencimiento de diciembre.

Pongamos que no hay tercer pago...

Compramos cupones por 1000$, 7.633 cupones.
Cobramos: 7.633 x 5.97 / 100 = 456$

Si el cupon sigue asi de "loco", y llega a estos precios al corte, qudaria asi: 13.1 - 5.97 = 7.13$

Con los 456$ nos compramos (reinvertimos la renta) cupones a 7.13$ = 6.395 cupones adicionales (casi que duplicamos)

Terminamos el año con = 7.633 + 6.395 = 14.028 cupones

A finales del 2012 cobramos: 14.028 x 8.95 / 100 = 1.255 $
Y... si el residual vale 1$ , tenemos 140$ mas.

Ponemos 1.000$
Salimos con 1.395$.

Apolo, este ejemplo es genial para alguien que esta afuera y entra hoy, pero para los que estamos adentro...y que compramos a mas de $ 13.1 es dificil de digerirlo....
