NEW YORK, Feb 03, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Goldman Sachs Electronic Trading (GSET) announced today a new spread trading application for futures and US Treasury bonds. The new functionality, called REDI MAST(TM) provides fully customizable spread creation and trading from REDIPlus(R). REDIPlus is GSET's multi-asset class Execution Management System (EMS) that offers access to equities, futures, options, foreign exchange and cash bonds. "REDI MAST is our enhanced inter-product spread trading tool that enables our clients to trade futures and fixed income products more efficiently," said Jack McCabe, Managing Director, Co-head of Futures and Electronic Trading, Goldman Sachs. "It's built with the functionality needed to manage spread trades across regions and asset classes, while mitigating risk and market impact." Common strategies include basis trades, curve trades, butterflies and ratio spreads tailored specifically to commodity and financial futures. REDI MAST has several built-in controls that allow clients to customize the behavior of the spread -- such as risk controls and order placement logic -- depending on their risk appetite. Clients based in the U.S. and Europe can access multiple futures exchanges across regions, including CME, ICE, EUREX, and LIFFE. All futures product classes (rates, currencies, equity indices, and commodities) are supported by REDI MAST. For US Treasury bonds, REDI MAST offers direct access to Goldman Sachs liquidity. REDI MAST is geared toward the active spread trader. Users can easily create custom spreads offering efficient order entry, risk controls and position management through a flexible interface. "Enhanced execution tools, access to liquidity and straight through processing are critical items that clients demand in this evolving marketplace," said Isaac Chang, Managing Director and Head of Electronic Trading for Interest Rate products. "REDI MAST offers clients another channel through which they can execute efficiently and confidently." Clients may also utilize FIX connectivity to integrate REDI MAST executions with their internal order management systems for enhanced operational processing. About Goldman Sachs Electronic Trading Goldman Sachs Electronic Trading provides clients with the necessary tools to manage their trades from start to finish, from pre-trade analytics to post-trade analysis. INVESTMENT LETTERS: Permabears' Growling, Grudging BullishnessLast update: 2/3/2011 9:39:45 AMBy Peter Brimelow A DOW JONES COLUMN Two permabears make a snarling concession to the bulls :102: . Dow Theory Letters' Richard Russell wrote recently: "I'm changing my position on the stock market. I'm now recommending buying the Dow in the form of the diamonds SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF Trust (DIA). I believe the Dow (but not all stocks) is being seen as a hedge against the dollar and as a safe-haven for those who perceive that the dollar is steadily losing purchasing power." "In the very big picture, I believe Americans are facing one huge and daunting problem -- the steady loss of their purchasing power via a declining dollar. What we've been seeing is the Dow rising as it adjusts to the diminishing purchasing power of the dollar. To put it simply, the Dow alone (but not most stocks) has been acting like a currency hedge." Russell goes on wearily: "It is obvious at this point that the majority of Americans don't understand gold, and that they are not ready to buy gold as a hedge against the declining dollar. But some Americans do seem to understand that the best stocks may serve as a safe-haven and a bet against the fading dollar." "Up to now (actually ever since 1999), gold has outpaced the Dow. This could be about to change. For that reason, I believe my subscribers should diversify into limited positions in DIA rather than depend solely on gold (and silver) as hedges against the fading dollar." Of course, this is a somewhat grudging endorsement of stocks. It reminds me of the early 1970s (ahem!), when stocks were seriously regarded as an inflation hedge -- before the full toll of inflation became apparent. Russell is one of the very few letters that comment on the market every day, a grueling regimen. Interestingly, another letter that I turn to for daily commentary, Dennis Slothower's Stealth Stocks Daily Alert, is similarly growlingly, grudgingly, bullish. Slothower was one of the handful of letters to evade the Crash of 2008. He's been mostly bearish since then. But his long-term record is impressive. Slothower is distinguished by his relentless cynicism. He says, loudly, frequently and fearlessly, that modern financial markets are manipulated by public and private actors. But he also thinks that, at least in the short run, this can work. He repeated that last night: "As long as the Fed can keep the stock market averages above their 50-day moving averages with the usual ramps here and there, the market is in gear to the upside." "Since QE2 began, the cyclical overbought tools have largely been distorted. Simply put, the normal ebb and flow of price oscillation and discounting has been interfered with." Slothower even believes that U.S. monetary policy is being used to achieve various diplomatic objectives: "Food prices are a weapon, and the Fed is just beginning to wield this weapon, even threatening to do QE3 after June if need be until the country achieves its political aims -- whether this is to get China to uncouple its currency peg to the dollar, get North Korea to give up nuclear weapons, revolution in Iran or whatever, soaring food prices are a vulnerability that many countries have no counter for, as we are witnessing in Egypt. " In the U.S. market, Slothower concludes: "This is a hard one to gauge, given the QE2 manipulations versus skyrocketing food and energy prices, which have now reached prices levels that have choked off growth in the past and caused recessions, as we saw in 2008 when oil prices hit $100 a barrel (in March of that year)." But he's now only 70% in cash. The balance is split equally between:

Bien Visa digiriendo el bce., bien CSCO a la espera del mismo el 9 de feb, a seguir MRK y CX (CEMEX). En este ultimo caso la empresa viene muy golpeada, endeudada, aparentemente redujeron deuda y si pensamos que Mexico es uno de los paises que esta en la mira por un fuertre crecimiento dentro de un grupo de países, puede caminar... :arriba:
