Two-thirds of the world’s supply is mined in the highly unstable Congo, where lately the state-owned mining Gécamines SA, is pushing the government to nationalize the entire mining industry.

10 years projection demand? a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.6%.

What to expect on prices? A super spike is likely on the brewing.

A similar story is happening with Nickel!

Glencore has been positioning itself as the go-to supplier of cobalt and other metals that are used in so-called clean tech, including copper, nickel, and zinc.

Over the next three years, Glencore’s cobalt production growth is projected at 133%, followed by nickel at 30%

For 2018 Glencore believes it will produce as much as 39,000 metric tons of cobalt, up 42% from 27,400 tons last year. This is still short of the 100,000 tons demanded today per year.

Glencore looks back on the spot, particularly if “green” is the future.... buying dips....
