While the latter might be new management's preference, if some recent M&A chatter is to be believed, Cantor says any divestitures "should significantly reverse some of the continued misperceptions regarding the ability of Supervalu to remain solvent." And there's been plenty of that--SVU shares have tumbled 77% this year, including 22% this month alone, to $1.88 . The stock was above $40 five years ago.
