Just 100 km left to complete Nord Stream 2 pipeline, ambassador says

Only ~100 km of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline are left to lay, according to Russia's ambassador to Germany, meaning the remaining pipeline could need just three more months for completion.
In an interview with German media outlet RND, Sergei Nechayev also said he was hopeful the Gazprom-led (OTCPK:OGZPY) pipeline would be completed before the upcoming German election on Sept. 26.
The ambassador's comments suggest ~21 km have been laid in Danish waters in the April 1-May 7 period, according to S&P Global Platts.
Two Russian vessels - the Fortuna and the Akademik Cherskiy - currently are operating in Danish waters; it they will lay pipe at a combined 1 km/day, and assuming weather conditions allow, it would take ~100 days to lay the remaining pipeline.

Asi como estan las cosas europa se queda sin gas el proximo invierno, van a tener que aumentar las compras a la brevedad, el estimado es terminar en 2000 bcf al invierno, 2000 bcf menos que el 2020 con pandemia, y termino la temporada con 1000 bcf

En junio debería entrar en servicio este gaseoducto? hasta que no esté en funcionamiento me parece que no vamos a tener muchas novedades no?

Faltan 120 km, yo creería que para fin de año. Igualmente yo no puedo creer que este sea el driver... habiendo tantas otras cosas...power of siberia 2, el aumento a máxima capacidad del power of siberia 1, los precios del gas, etc etc etc. No veo que vaya a venir tanto más cash con el nord stream 2. Pero bueno, es mecado...

The Biden administration is weighing additional sanctions to block construction of the nearly completed Nord Stream 2 pipeline from Russia to Germany, potentially including the project's parent company, Bloomberg reports.
The sanctions reportedly would come in an interim report that also may specify an insurance company that has been working with the vessels laying the pipeline in the Baltic Sea as well as other companies providing support vessels and materials to the project.
Both Democrat and Republican lawmakers have been pushing President Biden to take stronger action to stop Nord Stream 2 after a report last month only named one vessel as subject to sanctions.
Secretary of State Blinken warned today that "any entity involved in the Nord Stream 2 pipeline risks U.S. sanctions and should immediately abandon work on the pipeline," and that the Biden administration would comply with earlier legislation regarding the pipeline and sanctions.
Nord Stream 2 is led by Russia's Gazprom (OTCPK:OGZPY), with European partners Royal Dutch Shell (RDS.A, RDS.B), BASF's (OTCQX:BASFY) Wintershall, Uniper (OTC:UNPPY), OMV (OTCPK:OMVJF) and Engie (OTCPK:ENGIY).
