DJ Emerging-Market Bond Funds Continue To Draw Money
09-sep-2011
NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Funds invested in emerging-market bonds continued to draw money in recent days, even as emerging-market equity funds had outflows due to continued worries about global growth.
Emerging-market local currency bonds had inflows of $212 million in the latest week ended Wednesday, according to a weekly analysis of EPFR Global data by Royal Bank Of Scotland. Funds invested in emerging-market bonds denominated in euros and dollars had an inflow of $215 million.
"We expect investors to persist in their preference for fixed income assets for a further week unless policy makers come up with drastic measures that boost overall market confidence," the RBS analysts said.
Emerging-market equity fund outflows continued for a sixth week, with $1 billion in the latest week, while developed-market equity funds had a $14.1 billion outflow, the RBS analysis found.
A further $11.4 billion went into money-market funds following the $3.1 billion inflow of the previous week
