Apple lifted to buy from neutral at UBS
LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Analysts at UBS on Tuesday lifted Apple Inc. to buy from neutral and bumped up the price target to $650 from $540, arguing more institutional money will move back into to the stock in 2014. "While Apple's stock has improved, institutional ownership has not recovered. It peaked at about 73% in April 2012 and has fallen to under 64%," the analysts said. "Our sense speaking with investors is that many are now equal or underweight Apple relative to their benchmark, which could result in new money supporting the stock." Among other factors likely to support the Apple stock, UBS pointed to the support from China Mobile to aid the seasonally weak summer quarters and the hire of Angela Ahrendts to "provide an inspirational face." Apple shares were up 1.2% in premarket trade after closing at $551.23 on Monday.
